              At  Felicity, California, USA, surprise gives way to admiration as one walks along the monument, first balloon, first human flight, first flight of heavier than air machine, (towed by a horse in 1856),  first aerial observation, first aerial photo ( Daumier drawing), first mail by balloon, first dirigible, first pilot's licenses including those of Orville and Wilbur Wright, first helicopter, first seaplane, first aerial victory, the list goes on…

   A quote  “First class historic scholarship with the overall effect of a new art form” the monument is designed for millennia. 

  Several panels link historic Franco-American friendship with reproductions of the actual licenses of Orville and Wilbur Wright (issued by France in 1909), the La Fayette Escadrille WWI panel, Lindbergh greeted by 100,000 French, and the 1865 drawings of Jules Verne forecasting "Only the Yankees, those great engineers, will travel to the moon" and correctly predicting Florida as the launch site.  .
